A brand new track from Lightspeed Champion aka Dev Hynes has been released on his official website.
By signing up and becoming a member you are given the chance to download the new track, entitled Heavy Purple and be amongst the first to listen.
‘Heavy Purple’ will feature on Lightspeed Champion’s upcoming new album.
Details are scarce on the new release, Hynes had this to say on his official forum,
“Unfortunately…
The album is in the hands of the label for whenever they want to release it..but they’re good with that kind a thing, it’s their job! No idea when that will be though.
I’ve had an album title for it ready for couple of years now, I name stuff really far in advance, to help get the vision right!
Fortunately …
This gives me time to do ALOT of things, stories / comics / and new new album under “Blood Orange” which’ll come out shortly after the new lightspeed.
Musically though, the new Lightspeed is pretty different, but not AS different as I thought it’d end up. It’s definitely an ode to europe though. Last album was so American sounding, I wanted this to be the “Regal” record..but soulful.”
I guess it’s just a matter of waiting for a release date then. From this preview of the album I predict great things for a highly anticipated second LP. After the critical acclaim ‘Falling Off The Lavender Bridge’ received it’s a tough act to follow.
