As clichéd as this may sound, Cymbals Eat Guitars sound epic.

The first track my ears had the pleasure of listening to is by far my favourite. Entitled ‘And The Hazy Sea’ this enthralling song takes you on a journey through different music styles and sounds. Much like a book is separated by chapters, ‘And The Hazy Sea’ breaks up into different parts, each just as good as the last.

Cymbals Eat Guitars are friends Joseph D’Agostino and Matthew Miller from NYC joined by Neil Berenholz and Brian Hamilton. At the time of writing the band are unsigned, this may not last too long however considering the quality of their debut album ‘Why There Are Mountains’ which was released independently.

The band are heading out on tour in the USA with The Pains of Being Pure at Heart through September and October. They will then be heading over to the UK for two shows supporting a band which they will probably have taken inspiration from, The Flaming Lips. See the links at the bottom of this article for more information.

‘Why There Are Mountains’ is available now. You can download B-side to the single ‘And The Hazy Sea’ which is titled ‘Tunguska’ from Cymbals Eat Guitars MySpace page (again, see the link below).
