The brilliantly creative and inventive (or as Pitchfork so elegantly puts it ‘genre-benders’) Hot Chip have given us a preview of their upcoming album in the form of a brand new track titled ‘Take It In’.
I was a big fan of 2008′s ‘Made In The Dark’. There wasn’t a track on the album that was skippable and I’ve been thoroughly anticipating the bands new album, so much so that it’ll be featured in Indiescreet’s upcoming 10 most anticipated albums of 2010.
‘Take It In’ doesn’t disappoint one bit. The track begins pretty edgy and dark with an industrial kind of beat, however by the time the chorus kicks in it’s typical Hot Chip at their best.
The new album, titled ‘One Life Stand’ is set for release February 8th, this will be accompanied by a UK tour which will head to the following venues,
Glasgow O2 Academy (February 12th)
Edinburgh Picture House (13th)
Nottingham Rock City (15th)
Leeds O2 Academy (16th)
Newcastle O2 Academy (18th)
Manchester Academy (19th)
Birmingham O2 Academy (20th)
Bournemouth O2 Academy (22th)
Bristol O2 Academy (23th)
Norwich UEA (24th)
London O2 Brixton Academy (26th & 27th)
