After posting about the brand new Kitsuné Maison Compilation coming out soon last week I thought I’d take a listen to some of the tracks and share my opinion on them with you guys.

Below are five tracks taken from the compilation as well as a little write up on each one. See the links at the bottom of this post to pre order the CD.

French Horn Rebellion – ‘Up All Night’

What a great way to start the album. Following on from the last compilation (Compilation 7′s first track was Two Door Cinema Club – ‘Something Good Can Work’) ‘Up All Night’ is a bouncy mix of blips and bleeps which really sets the mood for things to come.

Midnight Juggernauts – ‘This New Technology’

Not my favourite track from the album but still a catchy track which seems to take influences from all over. ‘This New Technology’ has a bit of an 80′s feel to it. About 3 minutes in I’m sure it sounds like the music used in Scarface. An odd thing to think I know but that’s what first hit me about it.

Memory Tapes – ‘Bicycle’

‘Bicycle’ is one of the more subdued tracks on the album. A peacefully melodic track which floats along but still grabs your attention.

Nottee – ‘Control’

Nottee’s ‘Control’ is one of the best tracks on the album. A happy go lucky backing track with some great vocals makes for a good combination. This song is feel good without being too sickly. Think rainbows and puppies.

My Tiger My Timing – ‘I Am The Sound’

‘I Am The Sound’ is the closing track of the compilation. Although not immediately catchy the song seems to get better with each listen. Interested to hear some remixes of this track.

Other tracks on the album worth noting include Delphic with ‘This Momentary’, a remix by Moulinex of Two Door Cinema Club’s ‘I Can Talk’ and a remix of Chew Lips’ ‘Salt Air’ by Franz Ferdinand frontman Alex Kapranos.

Overall pretty interesting as per usual from the French trend setters. No doubt these tracks and artist now be undyingly loved by those hipsters who swear by Kitsuné.

Expect lots or remixes of these tracks in the coming months.

Kitsuné Maison Compilation 8 is released in the UK on November 23rd, you can pre order it from Amazon right now.
