[Introducing] Blackbird Blackbird

Introducing the loyal fans of Indiescreet to new bands and artists is something I don’t do often enough, usually I’ll wait until there’s some buzz about an act before taking the leap of faith and sharing my finds with you guys.

Today I thought I’d make an exception and generally try and counter my reservations by launching Introducing as a new tag an a recurring feature.

First up is Mikey Sanders from San Francisco, who records under the moniker Blackbird Blackbird. His music can best be described as dream-pop, shoegaze or perhaps chillwave, providing a fuzzy layered sound alongside distorted vocals reminiscent of the likes of Washed Out, Toro Y Moi or Tennis.

Below is a great mass of material which Blackbird Blackbird has released in a short period of time, plenty to immerse yourself in.

‘Pure’ is taken from Blackbird Blackbird’s debut full length record Summer Heart which you can stream in full below or download over at Bandcamp now.

Also worth a listen is a cover of Modest Mouse’s ‘Float On’ which I found over at Nialler9 just today.
