July 13th – New Album Releases

New releases this week (July 13th) include:

The Dead Weather – Horehound
The Rumble Strips – Welcome to The Walkalone
Dan Black – Un

Last week I predicted Florence & The Machine would have a good chance of knocking Michael Jackson off the number one spot. MJ is still number one however, with Florence & The Machine’s debut ‘Lungs’ at number two. In fact Jackson is dominating with six albums taking up the top ten places.

I’m not sure any of the releases out today will be able to make it to number one come next Sunday. The Dead Weather are popular but I doubt their debut album Horehound will have the selling power to make it to the number one spot.

In fact, it may be quite a while before we have a new number one. I think Arctic Monkeys may have the best chance in the coming weeks. What do you think? Will anyone knock MJ off the number one spot before that?
