This week’s releases include some albums which should fair well in the charts.

Florence & The Machine – Lungs
Bombay Bicycle Club – I Had The Blues But I Shook Them Loose
Major Lazer – Guns Dont Kill People Lazers Do
The Phenomenal Handclap Band – The Phenomenal Handclap Band
Discovery – LP

Florence & The Machine could be described as one of the most hyped artists of this year. It will be interesting to see if she can live up to all the hype and score a debut number one album.

Major Lazer is a collaborative music project from world famous DJ’s Diplo and Switch, they have already received a lot of press and attention following the release of single Hold The Line and although the album will not be a major hit in the charts I’m sure it will receive a lot of attention from DJ’s, remixers and bloggers around the world.

Last week La Roux released their self titled debut album. Followed by some rather harsh comments towards the hip-hop and R&B community about being stuck in the 90′s, rather strange I thought as La Roux frontwoman Elly Jackson seems very much stuck in the 80′s. Anyway the album would have reached number one in the charts at any other time but once again it’s Michael Jackson taking the top spot this time with The Essential.

Can Florence & The Machine knock MJ off the top spot? Find out next week with Indiescreet or subscribe to Indiescreet’s RSS Feed to get all the latest news first.
