If you’re expecting the next ‘Kids’ or ‘Time To Pretend’ then I’m afraid you may be a little disappointed with the first single to be premiered from MGMT’s upcoming album ‘Congratulations’.
‘Flash Delirium’ is not what I was expecting and upon my first listen I was decidedly miffed. A couple of listens later and it’s somewhat grown on me but I’m still not convinced it’s any good. I think Nialler9 had it spot on when he said “I’ve a feeling it won’t help them win any new fans.”
Although Ben Martin Goldwasse is quoted as saying “There definitely isn’t a ‘Time to Pretend’ or a ‘Kids’ on the album. We’ve been talking about ways to make sure people hear the album as an album in order and not just figure out what are the best three tracks, download those and not listen to the rest of it.” So maybe I shouldn’t judge so quickly.
‘Congratulations’ is due to be released on April 13th.
