Hey all, Just an update to let you know I’ve been listening back though some of Spoon’s stuff.

Thanks for all the recommendations, I’m a fan of Girls Can Tell but gotta say Gimme Friction is awesome.

I would start with “Gimme Fiction”. Spoon have made many a great album, but G.F. is undoubtedly their masterpiece. I first heard their music on the soundtrack of Stranger than Fiction. I just instantly fell in love with their music from that point on. I just can’t wait for “Transference”.

For me, Kill The Moonlight is a work of melancholy genius. Bits of it might sound bare and sketch-like, but they serve to balance out the precision and tautness of the rest of it. Key track? For me, Stay Don’t Go represents all the experimentation of the band, within the confines of a brilliant pop song.
Gimme Fiction and Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga are also very impressive – the former is probably less consistent; the latter is an extremely concise document of song-writing that’s probably less defeatist and pessimistic than their earlier albums.
Their cover of Don’t You Evah is an absolute gem.
