[Preview] Klaxons – ‘Flashover’

Finally, the wait is over! After what seems like forever we have some brand new material from Klaxons!

It’s been over three years since the release of the band’s debut album, an album which went on to win the 2007 Mercury Music prize as well as accolades at NME and XFM.

In those three years the band have recorded their album, seen it shunned by their label bosses and in effect pretty much started again from scratch on what is likely to be a more accessible record than may have been first imagined.

‘Flashover’ wont be the first single taken from the as yet untitled album, it’s just a preview of what to expect and I’m liking what I hear so far. Keeping with a somewhat familiar yet more refined sound it seems it was definitely worth the wait.

Klaxons were on Zane Lowe tonight to promote the premiere and sounded genuinely excited/nervous about the new material. They gave Zane a great insight of what they’ve been up to and what to expect from the LP. Zane also announced that the band’s new single will be first played July 5th, a date to keep in your diary. Take a listen via Radio 1 here.
