[Preview] MGMT Reveal ‘Congratulations’ Artwork

It’s not often I can justify posting just about an albums artwork but MGMT’s cover for their upcoming new album ‘Congratulations’ pretty much blew me away.

The artwork was created by Anthony Ausgang, who has previously worked with Apollo 440 and The Boredoms amongst many. A look at his website shows his kitsch, psychedelic style comprising of bright colours and cats is pretty much his trademark, one which he most likely holds a monopoly on.

As you can see above the cover to ‘Congratulations’ is no different, featuring a surfing cat being engulfed by a wave/cat. It’s all very trippy and pretty much sums up MGMT in a glance.

‘Congratulations’ is set to land on April 13th, before then we can probably expect an mp3 or two and a video.
