Nathan Williams, aka Wavves, has just announced details of his upcoming new album, the follow up to his 2009 self titled album.
King Of The Beach is the name of the album and here’s what Williams himself had to say about it,
“There was a conscious effort going into this that I didn’t want to make the same record again. I already made the same record twice, with the same f*cking cover art. It wasn’t overbearing, but I didn’t want to recreate something I’d done. I wanted to make something bigger, something stronger.”
Personally I’m really looking forward to new material from Wavves and after a glowing comment from Bella Union I’m even more excited. They said,
“well…i can tell you this…King Of The Beach IS a beast of a record! no two ways of saying this. many folks were thinking this would be another hyped up fuss about not v much and lining up to throw a rock or two, and you doubt at your peril, for this is just the record the music business has been waiting for, by an artist who really DOESNT GIVE A FUCK about record labels and arse like that. It really is THAT good. The punk record that will define 2010. “
But then they would, wouldn’t they.
King Of The Beach will be available from August 2nd via Bella Union.
