I recently touted Lightspeed Champion’s new album as one of Indiescreet’s 10 most anticipated albums of 2010, and rightly so I reckon after hearing the first single ‘Marlene’.
‘Marlene’ follows on from where ‘Falling off the Lavender Bridge’ left off, offering up twee indie pop in Hynes’ familiar format.

I say confusing because I’m not quite sure if it’s meant to be as cheesy as it is. Is it?
Nevertheless it’s the track that matter and I’ve got to say ‘Marlene’ ticks all the boxes for me.
Lightspeed Champions upcoming second album, ‘Life is Sweet! Nice To Meet You’, is released February 1st, ‘Marlene’ will be available from January 25th.
