Here’s a brand new video for Washed Out’s ‘Belong’ which features some rather peculiar images.
The video is a cluster fuck of hipsterness meets kitsch 80′s throwback which I honestly don’t think works very well.
If Washed Out wanted kitsch 80′s throwbacks then they should have got hold of the multi-talented Richard Ayoade and created something along the lines of Garth Marenghi’s Darkplace but for a music video!
Enough about the video and on to the song, which itself is extremely satisfying. ‘Belong’ is kind of glo-fi chill wave. Tough to categorise but think along the lines of Neon Indian or Memory Tapes and you’ve got a good idea of what to expect.
Washed Out already have the backing of the likes of GvB, where this video’s from and Pitchfork so expect to hear plenty more in the future.
